A pair of would-be burglars got more than they bargained for when they allegedly broke into a Glen Burnie, Md., home occupied by a very brave 14-year-old boy.

The teen called 911 around noon Friday after he heard someone trying to enter his home in the 100 block of Second Avenue SW while a second person knocked on the front door, authorities said.

As he gave a description to the dispatcher, the teen saw the suspect enter his home. He then dropped the phone and scared away the duo by screaming and throwing a knife at one of them.

"What are you doing?" the teen can be heard yelling on the 911 recording. "Get the (expletive) out of here! What the (expletive)?"

"I need you to stay somewhere safe, OK?" the dispatcher told the boy.

"All right," he replied. "I scared him away. He's running down the road now."

Responding officers pursued the suspect on foot and took him into custody, police said. They detained a female suspect at the scene of the burglary.

The boy's father said he's proud of his son -- he told News4 the first thing he asked his son was whether he had killed the suspects.

Christopher Alan Northcraft, 26, of Brooklyn Park, and Brandy Jeannette Bowman, 27, of Millersville, were charged with various degrees of burglary.
