NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 26) - Quietly getting better.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 19) - Beating Chiefs stopped bleeding. Beating Saints would be bigger.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 28)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 25) - Much needed win at home in front of a handful of fans.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 23) - Bucs come off the bye and thump woeful Kansas City at home. Three TD passes for Josh Freeman in a nice bounce-back after pre-bye home loss to Washington.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 26) - The Buccaneers signed Vincent Jackson in free agency and still have the worst pass offense in the NFC South.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 27) - I look at this team, and, suddenly, I understand why fans are staying home.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 23) - A week after frustrating Brady Quinn, the Bucs step up in class against Drew Brees.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 26) - Last week was more like the Josh Freeman I remember from 2010. In the last two games he has thrown for 627 yards. The Bucs could be starting a steady climb up the power rankings.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 24) - Finally the offensive explosion I have been waiting for. They played some great run D against a KC team that had run the ball very well.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 21) - Once quarterback Josh Freeman becomes more consistent over the course of an entire game, the faster Tampa Bay becomes a playoff contender.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 26) - Beating the Chiefs was one thing. If they can beat the Saints and Vikings, that will be something else.
