NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the San Diego Chargers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (16)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 16) - A win is a win is a win.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 19) - Norv Turner, still coaching for his job, needs more consistency from Philip Rivers.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 15)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 16) - win over KC keeps the heat off for another week.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 19) - Chargers stop the bleeding with a home win over the Chiefs, but they'll need more than that for anyone to think they're a contender in the AFC West ... even though they're just a game behind the Broncos.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 15) - Philip Rivers knew he had to cut down on his interceptions for the Chargers to return to the top of the AFC West after a two-year absence. He hasn't - he's thrown 10 already - the San Diego is spinning its wheels as a result at 4-4.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 19) - A show of hands for anyone who trusts this team to win one week to the next. Someone? Anyone?
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 18) - When they don't beat themselves, they're tough to deal with.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 17) - The Chargers are 4-2 in the conference and 3-1 in the division. As bad as they have looked at times they are one game behind the Broncos.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 18) - The Chargers represent the week to week nature of the NFL as last week everyone had Norv Turner done and now they are on the Bronco's heels in the AFC West.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 13) - For at least one weekend, #FireNorv wasn't trending on Twitter. That marks progress following last Thursday's 31-13 win over Kansas City.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 17) - Not so fast filling out that application to collect unemployment, Norv Turner.
