NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Atlanta Falcons by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

ATLANTA FALCONS (2)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 5) - Didn't need undefeated questions hanging over their head anyway.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 3) - We knew they were not going undefeated, but they are still very good.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 2)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 4) - Setback in New Orleans should be an eye opener for those players who felt the need to talk about an undefeated season.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 2) - Memo to Roddy White: next time you want to talk about 16-0, wait until AFTER you play the Saints.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 2) - The Falcons may have lost their bid for perfection, but not their grasp on the NFC South. The 8-1 Falcons still have a three-game lead over Tampa Bay and a four-game lead on the Saints.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 2) - Trust me, that loss will be good for these guys. Now, the pressure they feel is not from trying to keep an undefeated season intact; it's trying to win a playoff game.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 2) - They weren't good enough to run the table, but they're good enough to represent the NFC.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 3) - The Falcons finally lost a game, but they didn't go down without a fight. I still think the way Matt Ryan is playing will lead the team deep into the playoffs.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 2) - A loss vs. New Orleans possibly the best thing that could have happened to the Falcons. A very good team that needs to improve its run offense and tackling on defense to do something they have been unable to do of late. Win in the postseason.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 5) - The season-long problems rushing the football and stopping the run came back to bite the Falcons in their first loss against New Orleans.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 2) - Did anyone really think they were the '72 Dolphins? They are allowed one mulligan.
