NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the New York Giants by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

NEW YORK GIANTS (9)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 8) - Should we start to wonder?

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 9) - They turn it on and off, but they better find on switch quick.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 16)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 11) - Embarrassing loss at Atlanta is certainly cause for concern, especially this time of the year.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 11) - More mind-boggling inconsistency from the Giants, who look like champions one week (see: 52-27 over New Orleans last week) and also-rans the next. A 34-0 drubbing in Atlanta is the first regular season shutout loss in the Tom Coughlin-Eli Manning era. Playoff positioning destiny is no longer theirs.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 15) - The Giants were strong finishers during their two recent Super Bowl seasons. Not so this year, having lost four of their last six to lose control of their own destiny in the NFC East.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 9) - They can still make the playoffs without winning their division, but they must win their last two ... and wake up Eli. In four of his last seven starts he has no touchdown passes.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 10) - It's gut-check time for the defending Super Bowl champs.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 11) - This is the tale of two teams. They can score 52 points one week and get shut out the next week. The Giants have five games when they had more than 30 points, but who knows about the weeks in between.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 9) - The defending champs laid an egg in Atlanta and the clock is ticking for them to pull it together for another run at the Lombardi. Their history would indicate it possible, their inconsistent play in 2012 would make it hard to fathom.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 9) - Jekyll and Hyde have nothing on the schizophrenic Giants.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 11) - You want to believe in the Giants, but they are ridiculously inconsistent.
