NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Carolina Panthers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

CAROLINA PANTHERS (28)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 29) - Keep finding ways to lose.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 20) - Losing close games has become a specialty. That's not good.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 26) - Can't imagine Ron Rivera makes it another season, especially because quarterback has taken a step backward.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 29) - Latest heartbreak for Panthers' fans: Watching the home team blow a 21-10 fourth-quarter lead with 4:34 to play.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 30) - The Panthers led the NFC in rushing in 2011. But Carolina is one of only four teams this season still without an individual 100-yard rusher.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 28) - Great. Now we have Charles Johnson calling out teammates. This, folks, is what it looks like when the bilge pumps aren't working.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 29) - Things are so bad, DE Charles Johnson is issuing apologies on Twitter.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 27) - There are moments when Cam Newton looks like a superstar and there are other times he looks frustrated and the defense has a bead on him. Expectations were too high coming into 2012.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 28) - The Panthers couldn't hold on against the red hot Bucs.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 28) - Adieu, Ron Rivera.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 29) - They have lost a lot of close games, which makes them an OK team that just doesn't know how to pull it out at the end.
