NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Pittsburgh Steelers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 11) - What was THAT? ...

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 22) - Injuries and age leaving them with tough hill to climb.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 14)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 11) - Need to get healthy in a hurry or they may not catch Baltimore.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 15) - Poor blocking and porous defense, two trends that aren't going away for a Steelers team that's reeling early.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 15) - The 2-3 Steelers are trying to stay afloat in the playoff chase with their ball security. Pittsburgh has committed a league-low four turnovers this season.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 18) - Big Ben's OK, but the Steelers' defense isn't. That's three straight weeks it blew fourth-quarter leads.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 22) - Warren Sapp was a year too early. Now, the Steelers look old and creaky.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 19) - The defense has given up 100 yards rushing a game over the past 22 games. The signs were in place that things are different for the Steel Curtain defense. They have too much pride and talent on offense to go down without a fight.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 11) - Not the powerhouse Steelers we have been accustomed to. A great organization that will figure it out and make a run this year.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 12) - It took just one game - a 16-14 squeaker over Philadelphia - for a now-healthy Rashard Mendenhall to become Pittsburgh's rushing leader.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 16) - They have been incapable of putting two good weeks together.
