NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Houston Texans by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

HOUSTON TEXANS (2)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 4) - Even without a blowout, more confident every week.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 4) - Sunday night date against Bears will tell a lot about Texans.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 2)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 2) - Best team in AFC and J.J. Watt having a ridiculous year as he's on pace for 22 sacks.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 3) - Texans send former No. 1 overall pick Mario Williams home a 21-9 loser, as Arian Foster and Matt Schaub beat up on not-so-super Mario's shoddy defense.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 2) - The Texans sit atop the AFC because they play keep away better than anyone else. Houston leads the NFL in average time of possession at 35 minutes, 13 seconds.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 3) - How good are the Texans? We're about to find out. They play Chicago this weekend.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 2) - Clearly the most well-rounded club in a watered-down AFC.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 3) - The Texans dominate teams but now hit the road to face the Bears. It will be interesting to see how they respond to adversity which they rarely see except for the Packer game.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 2) - Coach Kubiak wants faster starts. They will need it in their Sunday night showdown with Da Bears.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 3) - This Sunday night's game against the Bears could be a preview of Super Bowl XLVII.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 3) - The Texans haven't had a turnover in five games this year. If they can avoid one Sunday, they can beat the Bears.
