NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Houston Texans by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
HOUSTON TEXANS (4)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 4) - Apparently not quite ready for the brightest lights.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 6) - The Texans should be concerned about their leaky secondary.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 4)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 6) - Got noses bloodied against the Patriots, but all is not lost, Still good enough to win in the postseason.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 4) - Matt Schaub overmatched against Tom Brady in a statement game - a very bad statement game - for Houston. If there's a rematch in January, Texans better hope it's in Houston.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 3) - The Texans have lost twice this season, allowing 42 points in both games (Green Bay and New England).
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 6) - The hope is that Monday's loss was a wake-up call. If not, make it the beginning of the end to what once looked like a promising season.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 4) - A suddenly suspect defense needs to put away the pesky Colts.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 3) - The shock of the Patriot loss is yet to be determined. One more loss and they could surrender the No. 1 seed to the Patriots.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 3) - "Houston, we have a problem." The Texans were completely outclassed by the Patriots. Matt Schaub will need to play better on the big stage for this team to have success in the playoffs.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 4) - Put the letterman jackets back in the closet.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 5) - In three of their last four games, Texans have a blowout loss to the Patriots and close call wins against the Jaguars and Lions. Any question about which direction the Texans are headed?
