NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Houston Texans by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

HOUSTON TEXANS (5)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 6) - After a decade of waiting, congrats on two straight AFC South crowns.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 6) - J.J. Watt is a wrecking crew. They'll be tough at home in January.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 5)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 5) - Back-to-back division titles for the first time in franchise history. If they win out and get homefield advantage, watch out.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 5) - Nice way to recover from that thrashing the week before in New England, as Texans hold off Indy to clinch a second straight AFC South title. Two more wins and they're guaranteed the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 3) - The Texans rank only 18th in the NFL in pass defense, but the opposition is completing a league-low 53.2 percent of its passes.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 6) - I don't care that the Texans have the best record in the AFC. I can't get that beatdown in New England out of my head.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 5) - You'd better know where J.J. Watt lines up on every snap.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 5) - I really like this team, but that loss to the Patriots still concerns me when it comes to the playoffs.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 5) - The Texans bounced back from their trouncing by the Patriots well. J.J. Watt continued his dominant play with three sacks of Colts rookie QB Andrew Luck.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 5) - He won't win the award because of the traditional voter slant toward offensive players, but Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is worthy of strong consideration as the NFL's Most Valuable Player.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 5) - On Sunday they clinched the AFC South and J.J. Watt may have clinched defensive player of the year.
