(April 11, 2011) Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic hasannounced its comprehensive multiplatform coverage of the Washington Capitals best-of-sevenseries against the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals ofthe 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. The networks extensive opening-roundcoverage is highlighted by up to five games that will air exclusively on ComcastSportsNet throughout the region, beginning with Game 1 against the Rangers atVerizon Center on Wednesday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m.Comcast SportsNets schedule of live-game coverage of theCapitals first-round series also includes Game 2 at Verizon Center on Friday,April 15 (7:30 p.m.), Game 4 at Madison Square Garden on April 20 (7 p.m.) and,if necessary, Game 6 at Madison Square Garden on April 25 and Game 7 at VerizonCenter on April 27. Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer Joe Beninati, analyst Craig Laughlin and reporter Al Koken who recently completed their 14th regular season as the Capitals televisionbroadcast team will lead the networks game coverage throughout the StanleyCup Playoffs.Comcast SportsNet will also provide exclusive pregame andpostgame coverage surrounding the Capitals opening-round contests. Capitals Central, the half-hour pregameshow, will air immediately prior to the networks live-game broadcasts and Capitals Postgame Live will follow all sevenpossible first-round games, regardless of which network airs the game.
