- DETROIT - A day after a rainout, the Tigers and Yankees play Game 4 of the ALCS. Detroit starts Max Scherzer in its bid for a sweep. New York goes with ace CC Sabathia. Game starts 4:07 p.m.

- ST. LOUIS - Tim Lincecum starts for the San Francisco Giants in Game 4 of the NLCS. Adam Wainwright is on the mound for the Cardinals, who lead the series 2-1. Game starts 8:07 p.m.

- SAN FRANCISCO - The 49ers try to bounce back from a loss to the Giants and slow running back Marshawn Lynch when they play the Seattle Seahawks in an NFC West game. Game starts 8:20 p.m.

- A profile on Travis Tygart, the head of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency whose damning report on Lance Armstrong detailed the ``most professionalized and successful doping program'' in sports.

- MILAN - Cycling's governing body says it could respond ``at any time'' to allegations by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong was a serial drug cheat.

- TEMPE, Ariz. - No. 2 Oregon gets its first real road test of the season when it faces an Arizona State team off to a superb start under new coach Todd Graham. Game starts 9 p.m.

- ST. SIMONS ISLAND - After three close calls this year, Jim Furyk has one last chance to get a win this year when he highlights the field at McGladrey Classic, the next-to-last official stop on the PGA Tour.

- ROCHESTER, Mich. - The women's basketball coach at Oakland University talks to the AP of how as a child she was sexually abused by her father. The Penn State scandal, in part, prompts her to speak.

- AUSTIN, Texas - A Texas judge is expected to rule Thursday whether a group of cheerleaders may continue quoting biblical scripture on banners at high school football games.

- INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana's Tamika Catchings is two wins from a WNBA title. The best-of-five series between the Minnesota Lynx and Fever is 1-1, with Game 3 on Friday night.

- MINNEAPOLIS - Kevin Love is out for six to eight weeks with a broken hand, and now Minnesota Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman has to redraw plans following the loss of the star forward.
