4-MONTH CONTEST TO CULMINATE IN CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT IN MARCH

Bethesda, Md. (Oct. 24, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic has partnered with District Trivia to present the inaugural CSN Trivia Challenge, a $5,000 grand prize bar trivia contest. The four-month contest, which begins Nov. 4, will feature weekly games at 12 area locations and will culminate in a championship tournament in March.

The CSN Trivia Challenge is open to all participants, who can join the contest at any point during the regular season or play in individual games. The games, which will comprise of general interest questions, will be hosted at each location on a consistent weeknight and time, with prizes and standings points awarded weekly. Each location opens the contest the week of Nov. 4.

Following the regular season, the leading teams from each location will compete to determine who earns positions in the championship tournament, which will be held March 11 at Penn Social. The tournament’s winning team will be awarded the $5,000 grand prize. The CSN Trivia Challenge will begin a new season following the inaugural contest and will expand to additional locations.

“As a sports network, Comcast SportsNet is already a big part of the entertainment at local bars and the CSN Trivia Challenge is a fun, interactive expansion of that presence,” said Austin Krablin, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic senior director of marketing and creative services. “This contest allows us to complement the action on television with an exciting competition for the bars and their patrons to enjoy.”

Currently scheduled to host CSN Trivia Challenge games include: Arlington Rooftop, Blackfinn Bethesda, Buffalo Billiards, Caddies, Carpool, Grand Central, Penn Social, Mister Days, Old Glory, Public Dupont, Public Tenley and The Laughing Man Tavern. Comcast SportsNet recently launched www.CSNTriviaChallenge.com to provide detailed information on participating bars, event schedule, and an updated leaderboard.
