NETWORK TO CONTINUE AS OFFICIAL SPORTS NETWORK OF THE BLACK-AND-RED, WILL DELIVER 16-GAME SCHEDULE OF LIVE UNITED COVERAGE THIS SEASON
Bethesda, Md. (April 4, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic and D.C. United have announced the extension of their longstanding partnership with a new three-year agreement, which begins with the ongoing 2013 Major League Soccer season. Comcast SportsNet and United, whose partnership began with the team’s inaugural season in 1996, also announced this season’s 16-game regional television schedule. This will be the 17th season that the network has televised United games.
As part of the long-term agreement, Comcast SportsNet will continue to serve as the official sports network of D.C. United and televise a minimum of 16 live games each season through 2015. The network will present pre- and post-game shows, D.C. United Central and D.C. United Postgame Live, surrounding select games, as well as other team-related programming. Comcast SportsNet will also continue to deliver comprehensive coverage of United on its news and digital media platforms.

Comcast SportsNet’s 16-game schedule of live D.C. United coverage this season begins when the team hosts 2012 MLS Cup finalist Houston Dynamo on May 8 (7 p.m.) The regional television schedule, which includes nine home games, seven away games and 14 weekend games, closes with a match against 2012 MLS champion L.A. Galaxy on Sept. 15 (5 p.m.) Comcast SportsNet’s live coverage will again be led by play-by-play announcer Dave Johnson and analyst John Harkes.
