EIGHT-EPISODE SERIES TO GIVE FANS A SEAT AT THE TABLE AS THE ENTERTAINING SPORTS RADIO PERSONALITIES ENGAGE NOTABLE GUESTS IN COMPELLING DINNER CONVERSATIONS
Bethesda, Md. (Jan. 7, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic will present an eight-episode weekly series, Table Manners, hosted by The Junkies’ John Auville, Eric Bickel, Jason Bishop and John-Paul Flaim, beginning Feb. 5. The half-hour program will feature lively and entertaining dinner conversations between the popular Washington, D.C.-area sports radio personalities and a different special guest each week. New episodes will debut on Tuesdays in February and March at 11 p.m., with multiple encores throughout the week.
Table Manners will give fans a seat at the table as The Junkies and their high-profile guest discuss a variety of compelling topics and engage in the hosts’ trademark style of storytelling, irreverent dialogue and humorous banter over a meal at The Palm restaurant. The unique, intimate format of the show will deliver an entertaining and candid conversation, which will provide a revealing look at the distinctive personalities of the hosts and their guest, including insight on their interesting careers, personal lives, passions and views.
The special guests that will be featured on Table Manners are prominent and intriguing figures from the fields of sports and entertainment. Among those already scheduled to appear on the program are former NHL player and NBC Sports hockey analyst Jeremy Roenick, Pro Football Hall of Famer and former U.S. Congressman Steve Largent, Dateline NBC correspondent Chris Hansen and Walt Williams, the University of Maryland basketball great and longtime NBA player.
“The combination of The Junkies, who are among the most exciting and popular media personalities in this region, and the dynamic concept of Table Manners will produce a tremendous experience for viewers,” said Comcast SportsNet President Rebecca Schulte. “This show, which will be a great platform for the hosts and guests, demonstrates the network’s dedication to producing great content and highlighting the region’s most talented people.”
Auville (Cakes), Bickel (E.B.), Bishop (Lurch) and Flaim (J.P.), are hosts of “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan (WJFK-FM), which airs weekdays from 5 to 10 a.m. The four longtime friends and Washington, D.C.-area natives began the show in 1995 on public access cable television before joining WJFK in 1996. After hosting the morning show with WHFS for two years, The Junkies returned to WJFK in 2005 and are now one of the region’s longest running and most popular radio shows.
