Bethesda,Md. (June 1, 2011) Comcast SportsNet, the regions leadingsource for multiplatform sports coverage, and the Washington Kastles of WorldTeamTennis (WTT) announced a comprehensive new partnership that makes ComcastSportsNet the official sports network of the Kastles. As part of the deal,Comcast SportsNet will televise six live Kastles matches this season, beginningon July 5, and provide expanded tennis coverage throughout the season.Inaddition to the schedule of live tennis which will also feature twoadditional WTT matches, including the league finals Comcast SportsNetsexpanded Kastles coverage will include team features and appearances during thenetworks daily news and entertainment programming, a dedicated Kastles teampage on CSNwashington.comand several airings of Keys to the Kastles season preview show, which debutson Saturday, June 4, at 10:30 a.m. The network will also highlight fancontests, special events and other Kastles information on-air and onlinethroughout the season. ComcastSportsNets live coverage of the Kastles begins with a series of three matchesin three nights to open the season. First, Venus Williams and the Kastles openbrand-new Kastles Stadium at The Wharf against the defending WTT championKansas City Explorers on July 5 at 7 p.m., followed by Venus and the Kastlestrip to Philadelphiathe next night, July 6 at 7 p.m. to face the Freedoms. The Kastles then returnhome and welcome Serena Williams back for the 2011 season on July 7 at 7 p.m.against the Boston Lobsters. Weektwo of the season features the Kastles and the hottest rivalry in WTT onComcast SportsNet when John McEnroe and the New York Sportimes make theirannual trip to Kastles Stadium on July 12. The July 14 broadcast features Top20-ranked Sam Querreys debut as a Kastle in Washington against the Springfield Lasers. TheKastles television schedule concludes on July 20 live from New York as they take on the Sportimes with Kim Clijsters and MartinaHingis playing together for the first time in New York.
