The Redskins got off to a less-than-desirable start as Sav Rocca's punt was blocked and the Raiders recovered it for a touchdown and early 7-0 lead:

Late in the 1st quarter, Matt Flynn found Mychal Rivera for Rivera's first NFL touchdown, putting the Raiders up 14-0:

After a nice catch-and-run by Garçon ended just short of the end zone, the Redskins settled for a 25-yard field goal to make it a 14-3 game:
