Washington, D.C. - Despite the Kansas City Explorers leading the all-time match-ups with the Kastles 3-1, nothing could derail Washington's quest for history. The Kastles edged Kansas City by just three games the last time these squads saw one another. With Venus Williams at the helm, this time around the Kastles would crush the Explorers 25-8 Sunday night in D.C.The victory marked the Kastles 26th consecutive win. In terms of American professional sports streaks, Washington is now tied with the 1916 New York Giants for consecutive games won. The Lakers present the next hurdle with the 33-game undefeated run by Los Angeles during the 1971-72 NBA season.More importantly, the Kastles were able to send off three players Venus (USA), Leander Paes (India) and Anastasia Rodionova (Australia) with a win before competing in the 2012 London Olympics.Halfway through the match, Williams left to go to the airport in hopes of capturing a fourth medal at the London Olympics. The crowd gave her a standing 'O' as she thanked the Washington community for their support. She also informed everyone she'd be participating in the torch relay at the opening ceremony.
