NLCS GAME 5: ST. LOUIS CARDINALS AT L.A. DODGERS

Series: Cardinals lead 3-1
Where:
 Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA
Gametime: 4:00 p.m.
TV: TBS
Radio: ESPN Radio
Weather: Sunny, 82 degrees, wind 4 mph
Starting pitchers: STL – Joe Kelly (10-5, 2.69) / LAD – Zack Greinke (15-4, 2.63)

The Cardinals homered past the Dodgers on Tuesday night and now have a chance to clinch a World Series berth. L.A. has set up their rotation for the last three games, starting with Zack Greinke tonight, but it will take something more from their offense to keep them alive.

No team on either side of the MLB playoffs at this point has hit well in the LCS round, but the Dodgers have just seven runs through four games. On Tuesday they fell short with just two runs despite recording eight hits.

What could give the Dodgers hope is the fact these very same Cardinals were in this position last year, and lost. St. Louis was up 3-1 on the San Francisco Giants in the 2012 NLCS and were then outscored 20-1 over the next three games. The Giants rode those victories to a World Series championship.

The Dodgers also have the pitching matchups in their favor moving forward. If they can somehow get through tonight, they’ll have the league’s best pitcher in Clayton Kershaw set for Game 6.
