While the Redskins appear intent on bringing DeAngelo Hall back with a contract extension, the cornerback has received another invitation of sorts.

Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond asked Hall to join the team in batting practice sometime this season with a tweet on Monday.

Hall threw out the first pitch at Nationals Park in 2010 and did pretty well. He apparently has some history with baseball having played growing up.

Hall, in fact, played on a youth team with Ryan Zimmerman, David Wright and B.J. Upton, hence Desmond's reference to 'Zim.' Hall played center field and shortstop as a kid in the Hampton Roads are of Virginia, according to Redskins.com.

The invitation has been issued, will Hall accept?
