In his first game since returning from the Futures Game in Kansas City, Nationals pitching prospect Alex Meyer continued his dominance of Single-A lineups with nine strikeouts in a win over the Lexington Legends. The 2011 first round pick is now 5-1 with a 1.92 ERA in his last ten starts.

Meyer allowed just four hits and zero runs through six innings of work on Saturday and lowered his season ERA to 3.10. He is 7-4 with a .210 batting average against and 107 strikeouts in 90.0 innings pitched.

After his recent start, the 22-year-old Meyer ranks eighth in the South Atlantic League in ERA, fifth in WHIP (1.13), and tops all SAL pitchers in strikeouts.
