The Nationals’ aren’t the best home-run-hitting team in the majors. Far from it. They didn’t even rank among MLB’s top-10 home run clubs entering play Monday.
And the Nationals don’t boast one of the most-prodigious home-run hitters in baseball. Ian Desmond currently leads the way with 22 homers, and it’s unlikely anybody on the roster will reach the 30 mark by season’s end.
What this team does have, though, is a whole host of guys who can hit the ball out of the park to some degree of regularity, perhaps more than any other club in the NL.
