The Washington Nationals are starting the 2013 a little earlier than we all thought. Instead of waiting until spring training to see their favorite players, Nats fans will be able to celebrate the team at NatsFest, an event scheduled for Saturday, January 26 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The team promises events for all ages in what sounds like a similar production to the Capitals Convention, held every year before NHL training camp at the same venue.
In a press release the Nationals described NatsFest as this:
“The fun-filled baseball festival will be held at the spacious Convention Center in order to allow more fans than ever to celebrate the return of baseball alongside select Nationals players, coaches and team personnel.”
The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. and will included live batting cages, question-and-answer sessions with players and coaches, and interactive games. They will also feature a ‘Kids Zone.’
Tickets for NatsFest go on sale Thursday, December 6 on the team’s website.
