The 2014 season will bring a new feature for Nationals season ticket holders who like to arrive early at the park to watch batting practice.

Starting this year, those who have their tickets scanned before first pitch will earn extra reward points. Those points can then be redeemed for free tickets. They call it the "Red Carpet Rewards" program.

The rewards points work as follows:

--arriving less than an hour before first pitch gives the fan 10 bonus points with an Ultimate Ballpark Access card, or 5 points with a printed ticket

--arriving more than an hour before first pitch gives 20 points with an Ultimate Ballpark Access card, or 10 points with a printed ticket

The first level of free tickets start at 50 points. Those are for select weeknights that are not designated as 'prime games.' Prime games are generally when the Nationals play marquee teams such as the Philadelphia Phillies or the New York Yankees.
