This piece of news may only interest a specific segment of Nationals fans, but the team has signed a multi-year extension with Levy Restaurants to supply food and drinks at Nationals Park. Levy has been the Nationals' exclusive restaurant partner since 2009.
Basically, it means the food will be similar next season as it has the last five years. There are, however, a few new developments as far as the stadium experience goes.
Two new locations for 'District Drafts' will be installed at Nationals Park. They will now have four stations serving products from local breweries such as Port City, 3 Stars and D.C. Brau.
Levy will also offer new food options including hand rolled sushi, stir-fry to order noodles and jumbo lump crab cakes. New vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available as well, including salads, sandwiches and veggie burritos.
Andy Lansing, President of CEO of Levy Restaurants, released a statement on the new deal:
The Nationals share our vision for creating an evolving, one-of-a-kind experience for fans. Chef-driven with an analytics-based approach, we push ourselves to innovate every aspect of the game day, from the ingredients we source, to the dishes they inspire and how we leverage technology to create a dynamic, high-touch experience for fans.
So, as Lansing says, the Nationals will not only use analytics for their performance on the field, but on the concourse as well.
