When the Redskins drafted Robert Griffin III it sent a shockwave through the entire city of Washington, D.C. His addition to the D.C. sports scene is a major one and local fans aren't the only citizens of the district excited for his arrival.
Minutes after he was picked by the Redskins, Stephen Strasburg Tweeted from his account a congratulatory message to Griffin III:
Strasburg knows what it is like to join a Washington sports team as a high draft pick, he was selected first overall in 2009 by the Nats and was also looked at as a franchise savior. Griffin III will experience similar expectations, but likely on a much larger scale.
Later on in the night, in the locker room before the Nationals and Padres game, the Nats released a video through their Twitter account of Ryan Zimmerman welcoming Griffin III to the city.

The Nationals have shown a lot of support for their fellow D.C. pro athletes of late with Gio Gonzalez going out of his way to mention the Capitals and Redskins in recent interviews. He was seen at a Caps game earlier this season, soon after he was traded to Washington, and Zimmerman has been spotted at Wizards and Capitals games as well.
