New baseball seasons usually bring new ideas, just look at Matt Williams and the Nationals using inspirational quotes and cargo vans to transport players from field to field. Those are minor adjustments, but in general, if things didn't go your way the year before, why not make a change?
Jimmy Rollins apparently feels that way and has debuted a new training method at Phillies spring training in Clearwater, Fla. Rollins is wearing a weighted vest while doing fielding practice. It is said to weigh 20 pounds.

Athletes use weighted clothing to train all the time, but it's usually while running sprints or in an actual weight room. Taking ground balls with one on, well, that may be a first.
