Rizzo on Williams: 'Right guy at the right time'
Bryce Harper had surgery in late October to debride and repair the bursa sac in his left knee, the one that plagued him for much of the season after colliding with an outfield wall in May. He played through the pain for much of the year and once it was over, got it fixed.
Now the road to recovery begins for Harper who should have plenty of time to recuperate by spring training. The 21-year-old actually sent out a picture through Twitter on Thursday of him riding a stationary bike, trying to keep his leg in shape despite having gone under the knife.
As you can see in the photo, the surgery left quite the mark. The operation, however, was not considered a major one and it probably looks worse than it is.
This also wouldn't be the first time Harper drew attention to his leg on Twitter. After seeing Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion back in June, Harper was photographed in an airport with a cast that spanned his entire leg. That ended up just being a precaution after getting a cortisone shot and PRP injections.
There is no word yet on if he is producing a documentary to show us all when the season starts.
