We wrote about a month ago how Bryce Harper was set to be a candidate for the cover of MLB '13 The Show, how it was up to the fans to vote for the cover boy. Well, that time has come and starting today you can place your votes for the N.L Rookie of the Year. Or another player if you so choose.
MLB.com has a page set up for voting right here.
Also in contention for the cover are Matt Kemp, C.C. Sabathia, Andrew McCutchen, Buster Posey, Ryan Braun, and Miguel Cabera. Including with each player is a video with the man himself presenting their case for the cover. In Harper's clip, the Washington outfielder says he is "determined to change the future of baseball."
Watch it right here:
If Harper gets the cover, he will join Alex Ovechkin and Gilbert Arenas as D.C. athletes who have recently been video game cover boys. Robert Griffin III is on the latest NCAA Football game by EA Sports, but he is representing the Baylor Bears.
Whether Harper gets it or not, at least he won't have to create himself in this year's edition. MLB The Show will definitely have his likeness in the game either way and, judging by the commercial, they did a pretty good job.
