Today the Nationals play two split-squad games, one at home against the Tigers and the other on the road against the Astros. Jordan Zimmermann will face Detroit while Gio Gonzalez will take the mound vs. Houston.

The Nats-Tigers game will be on TV and Justin Verlander is pitching. The Nats will also have a lineup stacked with regulars, including a first six batters that may look very similar on Opening Day. Matt Williams has Denard Span leading off with Ian Desmond, Jayson Werth, Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman and Adam LaRoche behind him.

Gonzalez will pitch to the Astros who have former Nationals prospect Brad Peacock on the mound. Peacock was part of the trade that brought Gio to Washington.
