It’s been an awfully quiet spring so far for Jordan Zimmermann, and that’s a good thing. The right-hander has simply gone about his business and begun the process of building up his arm with no disruption and no struggles (he has yet to allow a run in five innings).

Today, Zimmermann makes his third start, and he’ll actually face a legitimate challenge from a Yankees lineup that boasts far more big names than you’d typically expect for a road game 2 1/2 hours away from their home base in Tampa. Jacoby Ellsbury, Brett Gardner, Mark Teixeira and Brian McCann all made the trip. So did CC Sabathia, who gets the start.

The Nationals actually have fewer regulars playing today, with a lineup headlined by Jayson Werth, Wilson Ramos and Ian Desmond. Matt Williams has stacked up a bunch of right-handed hitters to face Sabathia, so it’ll be interesting to see if they come out hacking against the slimmed-down lefty.
