Bradley Beal didn't play like a young buck in his first playoff series with the Chicago Bulls, but he began to show his age Thursday. So does he plan on watching tonight's game between the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers? Nope.
"I'll probably watch cartoons," said Beal, 20. "Probably Tom and Jerry or something."
That's actually an oldie. "But I'm an old soul."
If the Hawks win, they'll clinch the series and the East semis begin Monday at Verizon Center. The Wizards had a better record and was 3-1 head-to-head.
If the Pacers win, it'll force a Game 7 on Saturday. The Pacers, the No. 1 overall seed in the conference, won their season series with Washington 2-1. The next round would begin for the Wizards in Indianapolis on Monday instead.
"No," he said when asked how he could not prefer the Hawks just because of the home-court advantage. "I think we play better on the road. It'll be great either way."
Maybe Beal has a point. They lost their only game to the Bulls at Verizon Center. Three of their four wins in that series came on the road, where they were tied for the best record in the East during the regular season at 22-19.
