Bradley Beal made the most of his first All-Star weekend scoring 12 points to help his team win the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night. Beal also contributed one rebound, four assists, and two steals as Team Chuck defeated Team Shaq 163-135.
Known more for his perimeter shooting and ball distribution, Beal took a backseat to his high-flying teammates and settled into the supporting role. The star of the night was Beal's teammate and game MVP Kenneth Faried. Faried tallied a game-high 40 points and showcased the type of skills that he will bring to Saturday’s dunk contest.
Though he may have been overshadowed, Beal certainly was not out of place. His instant chemistry with Ricky Rubio made him fun to watch even if he was not lighting up the scoreboard.
It may not have been an MVP performance, but Washington’s lone representative did his team proud in Houston.
