Beal taking it slow as he works to come back
The Wizards will have their hands full as it is with Chris Paul, when he leads the Los Angeles Clippers to D.C. for a game at Verizon Center on Saturday, and now he's calling it a must-win (CSN, 7 p.m. ET).
It'll be the second in a back-to-back set. The Wizards are playing at the Atlanta Hawks on Friday (CSN+, 7:30).
"We've got to put everything into that game. We're going to D.C. Washington is a team that's been playing well," Paul said after Thursday's 103-92 loss at the Brooklyn Nets. "We've got to win it. It's early in the season but it's a must-win for us so that we can at least feel somewhat decent for this trip."
The Wizards (9-11) will represent the seventh consecutive road game for the Clippers (15-9). It'll be their fourth game of the week. They're 3-3 on this road trip.
On a two-game losing streak entering Friday's game, the Wizards are losers of 10 in a row at Atlanta. Another loss will make the Clippers a must-win for them, too, as they eagerly await the returns of Bradley Beal (lower right leg) and Nene (right foot).
Both could be back on the floor for the Wizards at some point next week, but they'll have to get it done without them.
