The NBA decided to hold their annual draft lottery on Tuesday night even without the participation of the Washington Wizards. Here’s the CSNwashington early, early lottery mock draft, though we included the Wizards in Round 2 all the same.
*This draft has been hyped as arguably the top collection of prospects since the 2003 class, which included LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade. Nobody from the 2014 group, including Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker enters the draft with the same lofty projections as James and Anthony, but the overall depth is remarkably deep. By the time the actual June 26 draft rolls around, there could be around 40 players with first-round grades.
*Speaking of the Wizards, the team anticipates bringing in draft prospects for workouts starting in early June. Obviously prospects like Wiggins, Parker, Joel Embiid and Julius Randle won’t make the trek to Chinatown, but Washington will have roster space available and potential depth needs at every position other than small forward.
