OK, so he’s not Lil Wayne, Kanye West or Jay Z.

But when teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber popped by to say hello to the Wizards before their practice on Monday, he drew some attention. And if he didn’t, the throng of screaming girls that escorted him into Verizon Center certainly did.

“He’s a popular guy,” Wizards guard Jordan Crawford said. “I saw all the little girls out there waiting on him before practice, so he’s definitely here.”

Bieber, 18, is performing just one show tonight in D.C. He rocketed to fame in 2010 when he was named the Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. A handful of tickets for his Verizon Center performance were still available on StubHub late Monday afternoon and ranged in price from $150 for an upper level seat to $1,500 for a seat on the floor.

John Wall took a few minutes to say hello to the pop star, but it was hard to find anyone on the Wizards swept up by Bieber fever.

“Nah, I don’t feel it,” Crawford said.

Martell Webster may not be a Bieber fan but he respects the impact he’s made on millions of young girls, including his daughter.

“I said, ‘What’s up?’ I have to,” Webster said. “I definitely appreciate him as an artist and I respect what he does, so I said hi.”

But does Webster have the fever?

“My daughter has Bieber fever, I don’t,” he said. “It’s not going to be me bringing her to the concert. It’ll be my wife, though. She’ll have a blast.”
