Al Harrington plans to bring a winning attitude to the Wiz

Cartier Martin wasn't re-signed by the Wizards this off-season, so the small forward is considering going to play in China, his agent Andy Miller told CSN Washington earlier this week.

Martin spent parts of four seasons seasons with the Wizards since 2009 and had a chance to solidify his spot on a team that was desperate for scoring. The Wizards tied for last in the NBA at 93.2 points per game.

But a hyper-extended left knee forced Martin to miss a lot of action. The 6-7 forward averaged 6.6 point and 2.4 rebounds in 41 appearances and actually shot better from three-point range (39.7%) than overall from the field (38.1%).

While he was healthy to end the season as the Wizards rested starters when they were eliminated from playoff contention, Martin didn't perform as well as they lost six games in a row.

So instead of retaining Martin, the Wizards moved to re-sign forward Martell Webster and drafted another forward in Otto Porter and traded for a second player, Glen Rice, who could log time at the position, too.

Martin started a career-high three games last season and had his best outing March 23 when he scored 23 points in a loss to the Golden State Warriors.
