The table is set for the Wizards to finally get over .500, and for the first time this late in a season since 2008, on Wednesday. Boston's backcourt is ravaged by injuries as it has gone from first place in the Atlantic Division to losing 11 of 12 this month.

TV: Wizards Central pregame is 6:30 p.m. ET on CSN. The game will tip at Verizon Center at 7 and Wizards Postgame Live immediately afterward. Radio: 1500 AM. 106.7 FM

Last game: Wizards (20-20) beat the Philadelphia 76ers 107-99 on Monday; Celtics (14-29) lost at the Miami Heat 93-86 on Tuesday. Season series: Wizards lead 1-0.

Last meeting: Boston was held without a field goal for a 5:16 stretch of the fourth quarter and Washington erased an 18-point deficit to win 106-99 on Dec. 21.

Projected starting lineups: Wizards –- PG John Wall, SG Bradley Beal, SF Trevor Ariza, PF Nene, C Marcin Gortat. Celtics –- PG Rajon Rondo, SG Phil Pressey, SF Jeff Green, PF Jared Sullinger, C Kris Humphries.

Entry passes: 1). Wall and Beal should dominate the backcourt matchup. 2). Sullinger's ability to hit the perimeter shot in the last meeting was a surprise. 3). Ariza still hasn't found his three-point shot in 2014. 4). Will turnover rash fuel another third-quarter run for the opponent?

X-factors: Reserve PF Trevor Booker (left ankle sprain) will be a game-time decision for Washington. ... Boston already is without G Jerryd Bayless (left toe) and then lost G Avery Bradley (right ankle sprain) vs. the Heat. Pressey usually is behind Rondo, who is playing with time restrictions, in the rotation. The team signed G Vander Blue to a 10-day contract late Tuesday.

He said it: "We know what type of player he is and how he controls the tempo of their team. I don't think it's going to be any different. Even though (Kevin) Garnett, (Ray) Allen and (Paul) Pierce aren't there he's got the ability to make their players better with how he plays." -- coach Randy Wittman on Rondo

Around the bend: The Wizards will shoot around Thursday before leaving for a four-game West coast trip later in the day. They open at the Phoenix Suns on Friday (CSN+, 9).
