Wall: Being "best PG in the NBA" is goal

The Wizards (6-8) didn't miss a beat offensively in their first game without Bradley Beal, but they begin a two-game road trip and are favored to win Wednesday night.

TV: CSN+, 8 p.m. ET at Bradley Center. Radio: 1500 AM.

Last game: Beat the Los Angeles Lakers 116-111 on Tuesday; Bucks (2-11) lost to Detroit Pistons 113-94.

Projected starting lineups: Wizards –- PG John Wall, SG Trevor Ariza, SF Martell Webster, PF Nene, C Marcin Gortat. Bucks –- PG Brandon Knight, SG O.J. Mayo, SF Khris Middleton, PF Ersan Ilyasova, C Zaza Pachulia.

Entry passes: 1). This could be a trap game for the Wizards, who have a nasty habit of not beating teams that they should put away easily. 2). If Wall is a top five PG like he insists, he should have his way with Knight. 3). Will Chris Singleton work his way into the rotation for significant minutes? 4). Is Eric Maynor ready to make a move and secure more time? He played well in spots and made a three-pointer when the Wizards really needed it as the second unit actually increased their lead for a change vs. the Lakers.

X-factors: In 18 minutes vs. the Lakers, Jan Vesely had only two points but seven rebounds. ... Al Harrington (sore right knee) still hasn't practiced.

He said it: “I think we responded the way we are supposed to. Martell (Webster) came in. Martell has been playing well. Bradley is averaging around 20 and Martell picked that up. We just got to keep finding ways to fill in for what Bradley does.” -- Trevor Ariza on replacing the production of Bradley Beal, who is out with a leg injury

Around the bend: The Wizards will be off Thursday as they travel to Indiana to face the Pacers on Friday (CSN, 8 p.m. ET). It'll be their third game in four days.
