Boston Celtics guard Jordan Crawford has been named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Another way to say that is ex-Wizard Jordan Crawford has been named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

With the Celtics going 3-0, Crawford averaged 23.3 points, 6.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds while shooting 61 percent from the field.

As I wrote back in February when the Wizards dumped the volume shooter for virtually nothing in a basketball-context, Crawford's on and off-court antics plus his bench slouching routine helped ensure his exit from Washington. But, to his credit, the 25-year-old appears to have grown up a bit with the Celtics under rookie head coach Brad Stevens.

“I mean, there are times when you think certain things are going to happen that don’t go as planned, so you have doubt, a little bit, of how your career panned out, because that’s not what you dreamed of when you were little,” Crawford told the Boston Globe on Friday night (the article is worth a click just to see the main photo).

This season's he's playing a career-high 29 minutes for the first place Celtics. More from the Globe:

It could be said that having a change of scenery was what helped Crawford most. He didn’t deny that new surroundings do help.

“Well, I don’t have to look over my shoulder [anymore],” he said. “That’s one thing. I think they believe in me here. I don’t have to worry about anybody saying this or saying that. That’s a little more comfortable.”

The Wizards and Crawford reunite December 21 in Boston. "Steez" makes his return to Washington on January 22.
