Summer, like the MLB season, is halfway over, and the past seven days have been pretty busy. Between the final World Cup match, MLB All Star break, and NBA roster changes, there was a lot to keep up with, so in case you missed it here is what happened this week in social media.

1) For the major leaguers who weren't selected to play during All Star weekend, this past week was a nice break from all the travel and demand the season brings. Nationals teammates Doug Fister and Gio Gonzalez both took time to relax during the All-Star break, just in completely different ways.

2) Even though DeSean Jackson is now playing for NFC East-rival Washington Redskins, he still remains close with his former Eagles teammates, especially LeSean McCoy. This past weekend McCoy held a charity basketball game and Jackson documented his performance via Instagram.

While they remain close, Jackson had no problem showing McCoy up on the court, finishing the game with 42 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds.

3) The Wizards roster looks pretty different after this week with the additions of Paul Pierce, Kris Humphries, and DeJuan Blair. Many Wizards were excited about their new teammates and welcomed them to D.C via social media.

But no one rolled out the welcome wagon as much as Marcin Gortat.

4) Dustin Penner may be a unrestricted free agent and his future with the Capitals is unknown but his insightful tweets are still too good to pass over.

National Treasure wasn't so bad, right?

5) And before the Orioles went into the All-Star break, John Wall hit Camden Yards for his first ever O's game.
