Lost in the 18-point win against the Miami Heat is that Eric Maynor, a key free-agent acquisition for the Wizards, is the only player to not get off the bench.

Maynor, the primary backup for John Wall at point guard, sat while Garrett Temple played instead. Temple didn't play vs. the Chicago Bulls in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday.

So was coach Randy Wittman just playing musical chairs to get a feel for different lineups? Apparently not.

"He had a sore Achilles, so we just held him out," Wittman said.

Maynor told CSN Washington afterwards that it was his left leg and not playing was just a precaution.

The Wizards already are without Otto Porter (right hip flexor), Emeka Okafor (herniated disk) and Chris Singleton (left foot/toe surgery).

They recently had Trevor Booker return to the lineup after missing most of the start of camp with a sore right knee.
