The Wizards' regular season is over, meaning it's now all about the offseason, including free agency. Throughout the NBA playoffs we will highlight a new 2013 free agent playing on that given day while projecting a possible fit in Washington. The Wizards currently do not have significant salary cap space for any big ticket items, but six players on the current roster will hit the open market this summer including Martell Webster, A.J. Price, Garrett Temple and Cartier Martin. Some under contract could be traded. Obviously re-signing some or all of the aforementioned free agents is an option and the Wizards have three draft picks, including a first round selection, but those pieces won't solve all their needs. That's where other team's free agents come in, that's why we want to know these free agents a little better...

Free agent: David West, PF, Indiana Pacers

Vitals: 6-foot-9, 250 lbs. Turns 33 in August

Stats: 17.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists; jumped his scoring average up 4.3 points in his second season with the Pacers

Matchup: No. 3 seed in the East, Indiana opens its first round series Sunday at home against the Atlanta Hawks

The fit: Perhaps not a true stretch-four in terms of knocking down shots around the 3-point arc, but West's strong mid-range game would help open the court and provide John Wall with another point-producing weapon. West's solid defensive sensibilities would not deter from what the Wizards accomplished this season and Randy Wittman would finally have a third interior presence with he would feel comfortable.

Chances of becoming a Wizard: Unless Washington sheds significant salary this offseason to purchase even a semi-big ticket, not terribly likely. West made $10 million this season, though at his age he could see fewer dollars anyway - but not few enough for the Wizards to enter the heavy negotiating fray.
