In two months all eyes - at least those interested in summer league basketball - will be focused on Las Vegas.
The NBA Summer League tips off on Friday, July 11 on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas. This marks the 10 straight year the event will take place in Vegas - and the second straight time with a tournament-style format. The Wizards have participated in every Las Vegas Summer League to date.
Per the NBA, teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 11-15. The tournament runs through the Championship Game on July 21. Each team is guaranteed to play at least five games. Individual team schedules will be released at a later date.
Wizards fans can expect 2013 first-round pick Otto Porter on the summer league roster. Glen Rice Jr. and Tomas Satoransky, Washington's second-round selection in 2012, are other logical names that could participate. The Wizards do not have a first round pick in June's draft, but currently have a second-rounder. That selection would also head to Vegas.
The Golden State Warriors won the inaugural NBA Summer League Championship in 2013, defeating the Phoenix Suns 91-77 in the title game.
