Nene didn’t practice because of a shoulder injury Thursday, and he’ll be a game-time decision for Friday’s home game vs. the New York Knicks.

Coach Randy Wittman held a light practice after the Wizards lost 96-95 to the Detroit Pistons without Nene on Wednesday.

“He felt better today,” Wittman said of his power forward. “Didn’t do anything. We kept him out. Feeling better, he said.”

The Wizards (18-38) were out of sorts without Nene as their three-game winning streak ended, particularly with interior defense as Greg Monroe had his way. He had 26 points on 12-for-17 shooting, 11 rebounds and four steals for Detroit.

Including a 106-96 loss to the Wizards on Feb. 6, the Knicks (34-20) are 2-5. Nene had foul trouble in that game, getting 13 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes.
