PHILADELPHIA -- The big question has been the availability of Nene, who wasn't on the floor when the Wizards opened at home against the Philadelphia 76ers last week.
Wednesday, the Wizards' 7-footer warmed up for about 10 minutes for the first time before a game since began Oct. 30.
Then, Nene strained his left calf in a 113-102 loss at the Detroit Pistons. Nene had refrained from practice until an MRI on Monday showed he had no serious damage to his lower leg or Achilles.
Nene said Tuesday that he'd try to play for the first time vs. the 76ers, who came from 13 points down to beat the Wizards 109-102 at Verizon Center less than a week ago.
Also, Trevor Booker (dislocated left index finger) took part in warmups and has been expected to play all along even though his injury is on his shooting hand.
"He'll be available," coach Randy Wittman said when asked about Nene's status. "Book is fine."
