Watch Wizards vs. Hawks at 4pm on Comcast SportsNet
LAS VEGAS-- Wizards. Summer League. And so it begins...Washington open its Las Vegas summer basketball showcase on Friday (4 pm ET) against Atlanta, the first of five games in six days. Fans can watch Bradley Beal's Wizards' debut plus two more summer leagues games on Comcast SportsNet.I'm headed over to the Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas shortly. Check back here forupdates on starting lineups, any roster moves and other summer league 411, but for now... Whether they all are on the court for the opening tip or not, the quintet of Jan Vesely, Chris Singleton, Shelvin Mack, Bradley Beal and Tomas Satoransky should see plenty over these five games.Yesterday Ilaid outeach of theirsspecific on-court goals.
Based on positional fit, the first four make forthe basis of alegit unit, onewe could imagine the Wizards trotting out off the bench next season. Assuming the Wizards do not want to have Beal or Satoransky playing out of position, the Czech Republic product likely comes off the bench. Satoranky could see minutes with former Indiana guard Earl Calloway as the two played together on Spain. The Wizards said14 training camp bodies would be coming to the summer league. If they plan to start a true center, Garret Siler played 21 games for Phoenix during the 2010-11 season. First round pick John Jenkins (Vanderbilt), and former Virginia star Mike Scott headline the Hawks projected roster. Many considered the senior Jenkins, who faced Beallast season duringSoutheastern conference matchups, the premier backcourt shooter in the draft. The 6-foot-8 Scott was the Hawks second-round pick.
