As one would expect, Wizards point guard John Wall received plenty of congratulatory messages on Twitter as soon as it was announced Thursday night that the 23-year old was selected to the NBA All-Star Team for the first time in his career.
From current and former teammates to endorsement partners such as Adidas, the Twitterverse was showing Wall plenty of love after his biggest achievement in the league to this point. But perhaps the highest profile shoutout -- the one that'd make D.C. sports fans smile -- came from Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, who tweeted Wall shortly after the announcement was made.
The newly-minted All-Star and Griffin actually have a history that predates their time in Washington; RG3 attempted to recruit Wall to the Baylor Bears' basketball team in 2009 when the latter was still deciding which school to play for.
Even though Wall eventually chose Kentucky, the two local sports stars are reunited in D.C. and now have something else in common -- each can now say they've been selected to their respective sport's All-Star Game.
