Two things we know for sure about Glen Rice Jr.: He's previously starred in the NBA's Development League and isn't afraid to shoot. Both elements were on display Thursday night as the Wizards rookie made his debut for the Iowa Energy.

In his first live action since undergoing right wrist surgery on Dec. 18. Rice had 18 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocks in Iowa's 98-94 win over the Maine Red Claws.

The second-round pick certainly stuffed the stat sheet for the Energy. Rice also took 18 shots from the field to get those 18 points. He missed his four 3-point attempts, finished 6 of 18 overall and made 4 of 6 free throws in 34 minutes.

The Wizards assigned Rice to their D-League affiliate once the wing guard was cleared for contact. He's expected to play another 2-3 games before likely returning to Washington.

Last season Rice averaged 13 points and six rebounds in 42 games for the D-League's Rio Grande franchise before entering the 2013 NBA Draft. In 11 games for the Wizards this season including one start, he’s averaging 2.9 points in 10 minutes per game.
