What's going on with players from overseas trying to dictate terms before even getting drafted? First it was 19-year-old Dante Exum of Australia, who'd indicated he'd prefer to be taken by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Now, it's Dario Saric, a 20-year-old Croatian forward who is an early entry in next month's draft. Saric pulled his name out last year, when the talent pool was a lot thinner.
According to David Pick of EuroBasket via his Twitter account: " Dario Saric, I'm told, has let it be known he plans to go to NBA next season if drafted by Celtics or Lakers.
The Celtics choose sixth and the Lakers seventh.
As for Exum, he has the same agent, Rob Pelinka, as Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
So if they don't get their wishes will they simply take their ball, go home and wait until next year? Players have until June 16 to withdraw.
The Wizards' scouts have gone to see Exum play. He's undersized and there are questions about his ability to handle the grind of the NBA but keep in mind he's still growing. He'll be bigger than 6-6 and 196 pounds that he is currently.
He won't be around when they choose 46th in the second round, their only scheduled pick. Exum is expected to be taken in the top five. Saric, a 6-10 forward, could go in the top 10.
